    Review by Deborah Brown:
Clare Foster continues to bring her seemingly effortless recording forward to appeal to a new generation of fans. Although the music is quite familiar, the treatment screams, get on your dancing shoes and find a partner who can wheel you around the floor! This is a slow burn mover. Full of pulsating rhythms from south of the border with sultry vocals. So get out those umbrella drinking straws and take a tropical holiday!
From the musical, Oliver Twist, yes, Oliver Twist, the lovely melody, “Who Will Buy” may appeal to theatre goers but with the talented ensemble of top notch musicians, this music will get you going like “Baião na Praia”. Now this piece will get you moving. The classic compositions, “I Only Have Eyes For You” and “Singing in the Rain” will delight.
This is a quirky, interesting and innovative recording and Clare, as usual, surrounds herself with a cast of musicians and singers who have a wonderful vested interest in her and her musical goals.
She is truly a breath of fresh air!

Baião Na Praia S. Jayasinha/C. Foster There is a movement in the sand The clapping of some hands A wave of silence with each beat There is a stomping on the ground Excitement with the sound To everybody’s dancing feet There is a humming of a song Their notes have come and gone The sparkle of each heart ignites There is the living of a dream The jewels inside us gleam To everybody’s joy and light There is a magic in the air The freedom if you dare A love that cannot be denied There is a sea of hidden pearls The colours glow and swirl To eyes of wonder opened wide There is the calling of a voice That’s charm makes us rejoice To all the beauty that we greet There is a passion in us all The memories recalled In paradise is where we’ll meet And through the mystery of time Our lives will take a journey We will not forget And with the hope that some day soon We’ll find we haven’t travelled To somewhere of regret

The Silent Space Clare Foster Dedicated to my Mama A breath in this moment Where no one speaks A time and place Where our hearts can meet The sorrow of tears ever long A wordless song Your beauty shines on The touch of a feeling So incomplete A deep sensation Our souls can greet The peace in a kiss that has gone Remnants of song When you departed In this silent space I have found Intimate thoughts We share in secret Which each sigh there’s hope Our lives are intertwined Without our cares (2X I miss you so Want you to know) This we can share For eternity ’Til we meet again

about

This album came about through a great love of Jazz and Latin American music. Songs from the Great American Song book and some original compositions have been arranged in 15 different grooves from South America and Spain. Each track has its own unique place in my heart. I hope it brings you as much joy as it did us in making it.

about

Clare Foster London, UK

Humphrey Littleton quote: “There's a singer, who we say in the trade has paid her dues. Born in England, she's done the studying and the working in New York, London, Canada and places as far flung as Thailand and Singapore. She's now back in London gigging and teaching. Still awaiting the wide recognition that her talents undoubtedly deserve and I hope will receive very soon.” ... more
